A video appearing to show an elderly Anglo woman caught complaining about the number of Latinos attending a recent San Antonio Spurs game has gone viral on social media.

In the clip, a woman near center court in a premium seating area texts someone named “Chris.” In the online exchange, she takes issue with the ethnic makeup of the crowd attending the Silver and Black’s 101-100 victory over the Phoenix Suns at the Frost Bank Center on Thursday.

“A lot of crazy Hispanic fans,” she types into the phone.

In the next message, she writes, “All Hispanic! How can they afford it?”

The messages were visible to those sitting behind her because the text was abnormally large. It’s unclear whether she has vision problems or just has the screen dialed up to display texts bigger than normal.

The 10-second clip, posted by TikTok user @inluvwganineee, has 1.6 million views, nearly 250,000 likes and more than 4,500 comments as of press time. However, the user deleted the video from their profile at around 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Even so, the internet is forever, and the clip has been reposted in several places, including the X platform.

It’s also garnered ire from some prominent San Antonio personalities.

“This does not sit well with me, San Antonio,” KENS 5 sports reporter Jeff Garcia tweeted. “Damn shame.”

San Antonio Zoo CEO Tim Morrow described the clip as “disgusting” in a tweet of his own.

Meanwhile, San Antonio-based author and journalist Shea Serrano took a more humorous approach.

“Legally changing my name to Crazy Hispanic Fan,” he tweeted.

Local bar owner Aaron Peña pulled no punches in his X reaction.

“Shit, grandma, you’re halfway there,” Peña wrote. “Just call me a bean*r.”

It’s crazy to be racist and still use the most non offensive term for us- Shit, grandma, you’re already halfway there, just call me a bean*r. https://t.co/WMxJltzgmt— DON FABULOSO (@CleanGuayabera) March 20, 2026

For reference, San Antonio is nearly three-quarters Hispanic, with Mexican Americans holding a majority of the city’s high-profile elected offices.

The Current’s take? Perhaps this mystery woman should get out of the house more and touch grass.
