LOS ANGELES — Getting an opportunity to win an Olympic medal is a tantalizing prospect for Joe Burrow.

On Saturday, Burrow will be trading in his Cincinnati Bengals stripes to play quarterback for Wildcats FFC at the Fanatics Flag Football Classic, taking on Tom Brady's Founders FFC and Team USA. While the weekend's matchups are figured to be an interesting exhibition, they also will lay the groundwork for the sport's inclusion in the 2028 Olympic Games.

"I think it would just be different," Burrow began when asked his thoughts on potentially playing for a Super Bowl title or an Olympic medal.

"Super Bowl is obviously the pinnacle of what we do, but any time that you can be an ambassador for the game, for the league, that's something that I take very seriously, and I think the league tries to reward people that go out of their way to help in that context.

"And I've always wanted to play in the Olympics. I've never necessarily played an Olympic sport before, so when this got announced, I was pretty excited about it.

"The opportunity to win a gold medal, that's something that I thought about in a moment like that for a long time since I was a kid. I think it would be something very special."

And while the Bengals star would love the opportunity to play for a gold medal, Brady, one of the driving forces behind the exhibition, revealed he has a different perspective. Though he has seven Super Bowl titles, the NFL legend explained that he would not trade in any of his rings for an Olympic medal.

"That's an impossible question — I'm happy with how it turned out," Brady said of his career when pressed by Kay Adams if he would be willing to do the swap.

Still, he would like to remain around the game in some way when flag football makes its debut at the Olympic Games in 2028 in Los Angeles. "I would love to play some role in the USA Flag 2028," the seven-time Super Bowl champion continued to Adams and the media Friday.

"It won't be on the field. I'd love to coach one of these guys or be involved in game planning with Coach [Sean] Payton or Coach [Kyle] Shanahan."

With the Fanatics Flag Football Classic set for Saturday, Burrow admitted that he would like to come out victorious, regardless of the opponent.

"Yeah, I'm not entirely sure what to expect from Saturday," he stated. "Being on the field with the five guys, I know that they're going to have a big advantage against us. I have a lot of respect for their athleticism and their knowledge of the game, and we're just getting into the swing of things, and the guys are taking it seriously.

"I know we want to win, and I think it's why if you're going to do it, you go out and give it your all. If you don't want to do it, then you shouldn't be out there. So we're going to go out and try to win."
