Chelsea have already made change to transfer policy since Liam Rosenior replaced Enzo Maresca

Enzo Maresca’s departure was down to a number of factors, however how the club operates when it comes to transfer business was reportedly one of those at the top of the list.

Chelsea have continued to spend big money on new players in transfer windows since the new owners came in. Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro were amongst the big-money additions from the most recent summer window.

Many of these additions were happening without the manager’s knowledge or approval though. Reports stated that Maresca didn’t even speak to Alejandro Garnacho before he made the move to Stamford Bridge.

Liam Rosenior more involved with transfer talk than Enzo Maresca was

After this was a cause of concern for the previous manager, the club seem to have amended things when it comes to the man currently in charge.

As per the Mail Online, Chelsea chiefs are involving Rosenior far more in discussions regarding summer signing for the club.

This has included more talks with sporting directors Dean Winstanley and Laurence Stewart, as well as the likes of Joe Shields who also plays a key role in the club’s transfers.

Despite award nominations for Chelsea’s directors, there has been mass criticism from Blues supporters at their recent work. Ask any protesting fan, and Winstanley and Stewart’s name will crop up as a reason why they are unhappy.

Signings Chelsea need this summer

When looking at where the club need to strengthen at the end of the season, many would point to the goalkeeper position.

However, reports have stated that the club are happy with their current shot stoppers, Robert Sanchez, Filip Jorgensen and the incoming Mike Penders.

There looks as if there is more of an appetite to strengthen the centre-back role, even if Levi Colwill is coming back from a long-term injury.

It looks as if there is going to be somewhat of a exodus at the back with the likes of Axel Disasi, Tosin Adarabioyo and Trevoh Chalobah likely to be on the chopping block.
