In an interview with Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe, Vucevic confirmed that he expects to return to the court before the playoffs, saying everything is going smoothly in his recovery process after surgery.

"The good thing is I can still do some stuff on the court," Vucevic said. "That will help me for when I come back to be in shape, and hopefully I get a couple of games before the playoffs to get back in rhythm with the guys during that week between the regular season and the playoffs, with everything going as smoothly as possible."

"So far, I haven't had much pain or anything; everything has been going well," he added. "The swelling is coming down, and I've been working on my range of motion. So hopefully the X-ray is clean at three weeks, and I can start doing more and just get back to being comfortable and building strength in the hand."

Vucevic has appeared in 12 games for the Celtics after being traded from the Chicago Bulls at the trade deadline.

In those 12 games, he has been averaging 10.4 points and 7.2 rebounds on 44.5% shooting from the field.

Meanwhile, the Celtics are currently sitting second in the Eastern Conference with a 47-23 record.
