The Las Vegas Raiders are a pretty consistent source of drama around the NFL. It looked like they were finally having a somewhat normal offseason, but that changed when defensive end Maxx Crosby was traded to the Baltimore Ravens before they decided to back out due to a failed physical.

Crosby is now back with the Raiders for now, and appears to have softened his stance on wanting to get traded. Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams has experience requesting a trade from the Raiders.

He spent a couple of seasons playing with Crosby before pushing to get traded to the New York Jets in 2024. His trade went through, but he’s maintained a strong relationship with some of his former teammates, including Crosby.

He had a chance to weigh in on the drama surrounding the star defensive end and made it clear that he supports Crosby, no matter what he ends up doing.

“I’m happy for Maxx in whatever he decides to do and whatever his journey is,” Adams said, per Diamond Leung of the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “Obviously, it was a little interesting deal that happened over there, but as long as he’s happy, I’m happy for him.”

Crosby Has Been Going Through Roller Coaster

This isn’t the first transaction in NFL history to fall through, but it’s certainly one of the most notable. It wasn’t a secret that Crosby was recovering from a torn meniscus, so it shouldn’t have surprised the Ravens that he wasn’t 100%.

That’s why there was a lot of frustration with the team’s decision. Crosby recently opened up about the process.

“I mean, I’ve gone through some (expletive) in my life, I can’t lie,” Crosby said on “The Rush” podcast. “But that whole situation was probably one of the most unique, crazy, wild, up-and-down roller coasters I’ve ever been a part of for about five days, I would say. It was crazy.”

The Raiders didn’t seem to want to trade Crosby, so it should be easy to mend fences, but there’s definitely going ot be some awkwardness until he’s able to get back on the field.

Crosby Has Been Through Worse

This was an unprecedented situation for Crosby and the Raiders to have to deal with. However, he doesn’t seem to be dwelling on it.

According to Crosby, he’s been through much worse and just wants to get back to focusing on football.

“I don’t play for that external stuff,” Crosby said. “I play the game because I love it, because it’s my passion since I was a child. I play for my legacy. I play to win. I play for my teammates. It just made that (expletive) even more clear. … You think this (expletive) was hard? It was a lot, but I’ve been through way worse in my life. I’ve been through real adversity a million times over.”

Crosby is no stranger to adversity, and he has always come out better in the long run. He’s already a highly motivated player, but if there was anything he was holding back, that likely won’t be the case going forward.
