The Hill Dickinson Stadium will host the 2025/26 Premier League Matchweek 31 game between Everton and Chelsea. The fight on Saturday night starts at 5:30 PM GMT and should be tense, with both teams fighting for spots in Europe.
Everton will try to get over their heartbreaking loss to Arsenal, in which they played well at the Emirates Stadium but gave up two late goals. David Moyes’ team are in ninth place in the table with 43 points from 30 games, which is only five points behind their visitors. Chelsea, on the other hand, have lost three games in a row in all competitions and have only won four of their last eleven games.
Chelsea are in sixth place in the Premier League with 48 points, but they lost 3-0 to PSG in the Champions League in their last game. The Blues have given up goals in eight straight Premier League games since Rosenior’s first league game, a 2-0 win over Brentford in mid-January. They have given up 11 goals in those games.
Chelsea have a good record against Everton, having won 78 of their 195 games against them. Everton have only won 60 of those games. But the Blues haven’t won their last two league games against Everton.
Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League will show the match in the UK. Fans in the US can watch on USA Network, which starts at 1:30 PM ET.
Prediction: Everton will win 2-1 over Chelsea. The Toffees have the home-field advantage, and Chelsea’s defence are weak right now, so Moyes’ team should win this one. They will be eager to take advantage of the Blues’ current slump.
Chalobah Sidelined As Injury Crisis Mounts For Rosenior
Liam Rosenior said that Trevoh Chalobah’s ankle injury against PSG will keep him out of action for about six weeks. Achraf Hakimi hit the 26-year-old during the second leg of the Champions League on Tuesday, and he had to be carried off on a stretcher.
“It wasn’t until after the game that I saw the image [of the tackle] and then you’re really worried for the next day. Obviously, it’s never good that Trevoh is out for any period of time, but fortunately, it’s not as serious as we first feared.”
– Liam Rosenior
Chalobah is on the list of players who won’t be playing because of injuries. Reece James has a hamstring injury, Filip Jorgensen has a groin injury, Levi Colwill has a knee injury, and Mykhaylo Mudryk is banned. Rosenior also said that Jorgensen needed minor surgery for his groin problem, but he should be back in a few weeks. The Chelsea manager added that James’ hamstring would be looked at again after the international break.
On the bright side, Malo Gusto and Benoit Badiashile are expected to rejoin the team after getting better from their illnesses. Estevao Willian is also back after being out for a while. Pedro Neto is back after a one-game suspension, but Jamie Bynoe-Gittens is still a question mark because of a hamstring problem.
