After a wild start to the offseason, star pass rusher Maxx Crosby is staying with the Las Vegas Raiders after the failed trade with the Baltimore Ravens.

NFL insider Albert Breer also added that, “if he’s going to get traded, I think it’s going to have to come after Maxx Crosby gets back on the field and plays really well.”

Crosby revealed in an episode of The Rush With Maxx Crosby that the vibe was off when initially meeting with the Ravens, saying, “And you know, I’m just in my head like this is a whirlwind. Like I’m so excited, like fired up, you know what I mean? Like this is a new opportunity. And you can just tell the energy was off.”

Well, Pittsburgh Steelers 4x All-Pro defensive tackle Cameron Heyward revealed Crosby’s true feelings on the Ravens after the whole trade saga went down.

Talking on his podcast, NotJustFootballwithCamHeyward, Cameron Heyward mentioned how he sent out a text to Crosby to take care of his little brother, Connor Heyward, since he signed a two-year deal with the Raiders, and also apologized about the Ravens situation.

Crosby, in response to Heyward’s apology regarding the Ravens, didn’t hold back on his feelings, texting him, “F those dudes, I’m staying with the F’n Raiders!”

Here’s what Heyward had to say after seeing that text: “Alright, I can respect that. Maxx has always been straight up with me, and I’ve always respected Maxx a lot.”

Heyward is also happy because he won’t have Crosby joining his division.

There’s been a lot of animosity towards the Baltimore in terms of how they handled the whole situation, but Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta commented on the whole situation, saying, “I understand how people maybe from afar would feel that way, but nobody’s more upset about this than me — gutted by it actually. And so a regret, a big regret for me, but we will move on as a football team.”

And Crosby will move on with the Raiders.

What Connor Heyward Brings to the Raiders

Connor is not a 4x All-Pro and 7x Pro Bowler like his older brother, but he’ll be an important part of the Raiders’ offense as the team’s fullback, who also has experience at tight end.

Here’s more on Connor via the Raiders website:

“Heyward entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick (208th overall) in 2022 and has appeared in 68 games with 14 starts during his four-year career in Pittsburgh (2022-25). He has compiled 44 receptions for 379 yards (8.6 avg.) and three touchdowns, while rushing for 70 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries.

In 2025, Heyward recorded career highs in rushing attempts (15), rushing yards (43) and rushing touchdowns (two). He originally played tight end for the Steelers and collected a career-high 23 receptions in 2023.”

Connor had this to say when choosing to leave his brother in Pittsburgh and join the Raiders:

“It was so hard. I’m super grateful for my time in Pittsburgh, and obviously, playing with Cam, you don’t usually get to play with your siblings, let alone at a professional level. I didn’t take it for granted … When somebody shows you how much you could mean to an organization like coach (Klint Kubiak) told me, I just couldn’t turn it down.”

Regardless of what’s happened, the Raiders are excited to move forward with Crosby and Heyward on the team.
