The full details of Romeo Doubs' contract with the Patriots have emerged

The New England Patriots haven’t exactly been as aggressive as they were in free agency last offseason, but that hasn’t stopped them from making some big moves. Easily the biggest of the bunch saw the team replace Stefon Diggs with former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs, who signed a four-year, $68 million contract with the Pats.

Doubs will be tasked with coming in and leading New England’s new-look wide receiver room, and he’s getting paid quite a bit of money to do so. As it turns out, there is a lot more money Doubs could make as part of this deal, as the full details, which were recently reported, reveal that there are several notable incentives sprinkled throughout this contract.

How Romeo Doubs Can Earn $80 Million from Patriots

Per source, previously unreported details about Romeo Doubs's 4-year, $68m contract:

Also contains $3m in incentives each year to push it to maximum $80m.

Incentives are same for all four years: $750k each for 70 catches, 80 catches, 1,000 yards, 1,200 yards.

A fourth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Doubs immediately turned himself into a key part of the Packers’ offense, and while his ceiling wasn’t too high with the team, given Jordan Love’s propensity for spreading the ball around, he was very productive for the targets he received. The hope is that with more volume, Doubs will be able to put up some bigger numbers.

Doubs is fresh off the best season of his career in 2025, as he caught 55 passes for a career-high 724 yards and six touchdowns. Perhaps most importantly, though, he saved his best game of the season for last, as he racked up eight catches for 124 yards and a score in the team’s playoff defeat against the Chicago Bears.

The reported figures on Doubs’ contract have been varied, but the four-year, $68 million deal is the baseline for the talented pass catcher. The maximum value of the deal, though, is $80 million, and according to reports, it sounds like some lucrative incentives could help make this contract even more valuable for Doubs.

“Per source, previously unreported details about Romeo Doubs’s 4-year, $68m contract: Also contains $3m in incentives each year to push it to maximum $80m,” Ben Volin of The Boston Globe reported in a post on X. “Incentives are same for all four years: $750k each for 70 catches, 80 catches, 1,000 yards, 1,200 yards. Doubs’s career highs are 59 catches and 724 yards.”

Patriots May Not Be Done Adding at Wide Receiver

As of right now, Doubs is the Patriots’ No. 1 wide receiver, so it’s fair to assume he’ll have a shot at reaching some of these incentives. However, the team has continually been linked to a trade for Philadelphia Eagles‘ superstar wide receiver A.J. Brown, and even if it doesn’t acquire him, it likely will add another new face or two at this position in the 2026 NFL Draft.

New England reportedly sees Doubs as a clear-cut replacement for Diggs’ role with the team, and he’s fresh off a season that saw him catch 85 passes for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns. If Doubs manages to do that, he’d earn an extra $2.25 million in 2026, and while Brown’s potential arrival could change things, those figures seem very reachable for the Pats’ current No. 1 pass catcher.
