Despite winning the NBA Finals back on June 22, 2025, the Oklahoma City Thunder still haven't taken a trip to the White House to celebrate their incredible season.
Since the Thunder are facing the Wizards in the nation's capital this Saturday, some fans assumed they'd have the chance to visit President Donald Trump at the White House. However, a team spokesperson confirmed that won't be happening - at least not this weekend.
The Thunder said they couldn't show up to the White House due to a "timing" issue.
"We have been in touch with the White House, and we are appreciative and grateful for the communication we have had, but the timing just didn't work out," the Thunder said.

Do NBA teams often visit the White House?
After the Boston Celtics won the NBA Finals in 2024, they took a trip to the White House to meet former President Joe Biden.
"You may not know this, but my Secret Service name is Celtic, because I'm Irish," Biden said during Boston's trip to the White House. "Everybody behind me is Irish in their heart. I feel a special pride in this trophy. From this old Irish Celtic to all you Celtics, congratulations."
The Golden State Warriors, meanwhile, made headlines in 2017 when they declined an invitation from Trump.
We'll see if the Thunder work out a visit with Trump in the coming months.
