Denver Nuggets star Jamal Murray was called out by the Timberwolves for his Game 2 outburst.

The Denver Nuggets took care of business with a 121-115 win over the Toronto Raptors on Friday, March 20.

Nuggets All-Star Jamal Murray continued to play, despite dealing with multiple ailments lately.

In 39 minutes of action against the Raptors, Murray shot 55.6% from the field and 33.3% from three to score 31 points. He also had six assists and five rebounds in the Nuggets’ 121-115 victory over the Raptors.

After the game, Murray was asked about a possible lingering shoulder issue. As the veteran sharpshooter has been playing with his shoulder taped up and icing frequently, Murray is seemingly dealing with an injury concern.

However, the one-time All-Star doesn’t want anybody worried about his health.

Murray has proven plenty of times that he doesn’t want injuries to be used as an excuse under any circumstance. As long as he’s playing, he holds himself to a high standard.

This situation isn’t any different. Despite the clear ailment, Murray is still playing at a high level frequently enough to help the Nuggets pull off tough wins at times.

Murray’s Star Season With The Nuggets

The veteran guard has been a critical player for the Nuggets since 2016.

Murray played a reserve role as a rookie, appearing in all 82 games. By season two, he was a full-time starter for the Nuggets.

Although Murray wasn’t earning All-Star nods, he was becoming recognized as one of the top role players in the game. The Nuggets were headlined by the multi-time All-Star, Nikola Jokic, but Murray landed a lot of credit for Denver’s success as well.

During the 2022-2023 season, Murray helped the Nuggets win the NBA Championship. In 20 postseason games, Murray averaged 26.1 points, while shooting 47.3% from the field and knocking down 39.6% from three.

Since 2023, Murray has averaged 20.9 points (47.0% FG, 40.4% 3PT) for the Nuggets. He also produced 4.0 rebounds per game, along with 6.2 assists per game.

This year has been Murray’s most productive season. The Nuggets’ star appeared in 66 games, seeing the court for 35.0 minutes per game. He is putting up 25.2 points per game, while shooting 47.9% from the field and hitting on 42.1% from three. Murray is also posting an average of 7.1 assists and 4.4 rebounds.

The Nuggets are set to return to the court on Sunday, March 22, to face the Portland Trail Blazers. Based on Murray’s recent messaging to reporters and the fans, he doesn’t seem to have plans of sitting out.
