Chelsea substitute should be angry with Liam Rosenior after latest benching vs Everton

Liam Rosenior has named his Chelsea side to take on Everton, however one player left on the bench should be left very unhappy with his manager.

The highlight of the side is a return to the starting lineup for Romeo Lavia, making just his second start in the Premier League this season, after a 45 minute appearance against Nottingham Forest.

Rosenior has made three changes to his starting side from the poor result at home to PSG, with two of those coming in defence. Malo Gusto and Wesley Fofana are back in the side, although Josh Acheampong remains on the bench.

Thoughts on this, Blues?

Josh Acheampong should be furious after being dropped for Chelsea vs Everton

The Cobham graduate was brought on to steady things against PSG, and we argued Rosenior should look to Acheampong to help solve their defensive woes.

Again though, the youngster has been overlooked, as Jorrel Hato starts at centre-back despite impressing more in the left-back role.

Very few would have been happier to see a new manager come to the club than Acheampong, who had only been handed limited opportunities under Enzo Maresca despite showing positive signs.

He will have also been buoyed as well when it emerged that Acheampong was going to become a regular for the first team squad while he was in charge.

While this showed signs of becoming the case upon the new manager’s arrival, his only recent start came against Wrexham in the FA Cup.

Chelsea really need to be cautious with the youngster. Real Madrid are amongst the elite sides interested in signing Acheampong should he become available.
