Cam Skattebo has turned into a medical professional, apparently.
The New York Giants' running back says that CTE isn't real.
Wait, what?
Skattebo made a recent podcast appearance and was asked that very question: Is CTE real?
"No," he responded, then added, "It's an excuse."
CTE, for those unfamiliar, is Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy.
It's the NFL's major concern about head injuries and concussions, because it's long-term brain damage that can come from the repeated head collisions that happen on a football field.

Skattebo later in the interview suggested that asthma is "fake," too, so he was clearly on quite the kick during this conversation.
Whether he was being funny or not, it's probably not a look that NFL leaders will like very much. They've done a lot in recent years to promote player safety, at least the best they can in such a volent sport.
Skattebo, a physical running back who goes toward contact rather than away from it, has a play style that seems set up to lead to injuries. He probably would be best served to consider his health to some extent.
The Giants would certainly much rather have him healthy.
Skattebo, though, apparently isn't a believer in some very real science.
