Everton produced their biggest win at Hill Dickinson Stadium so far, both in terms of the scoreline and the size of the opposition as they defeated Chelsea 3-0 to inflicted a fourth successive loss on the west London outfit.

The emphatic victory was fashioned thanks to a brace from Beto on 33 and 62 minutes before Iliman Ndiaye completed the rout on 76 minutes.

The result puts the Blues within three points of defending champions and neighbours Liverpool in what is currently the final Champions League qualification spot.

Jordan Pickford 9

Bounced back from his Arsenal mistake with a string of brilliant saves, twice denying Chelsea captain Enzo Fernandez shortly after Everton went ahead, showing a powerful wrist to tip his stinging effort over the bar in a penalty box melee and then tipping his curling shot around the post in the second half.

Jake O’Brien 7

Did well to stand up to the tricky Pedro Neto, he got forward too on a few occasions, especially early on.

Vitalii Mykolenko 7

A more attack-minded display than we’ve seen from him of late, he managed to get up the field and put in some crosses while not neglecting his defensive duties.

James Tarkowski 8

Straight back in after missing his first game of the season at Arsenal, he was dominant at the back, reading the game well and made a crucial block to deny Joao Pedro when he skipped past Mykolenko.

Michael Keane 7

Dealt coolly with a hot potato of a pass from Jordan Pickford and was steady throughout, embarking on a mazy run at one point before eventually giving up possession.

Idrissa Gueye 8

Pivotal role in Everton’s second goal, he won possession in the centre of the pitch, burst forwards and played a smart pass to Beto, breaking free of his shackles having had his hands full up against Cole Palmer, who has hurt Everton badly in the past and keeping up with the playmaker who is over a dozen years his junior.

James Garner 8

Restored to his favoured role in the engine room, he combined silk with steel in the shape of some strong challenges while being able to pick a pass like his lovely weighted through-ball to pick out Beto for his goal.

Dwight McNeil 6

Combined well with Beto early on, he’s put in a shift on the right and was solid if unspectacular.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall 7

Pushing and probing against his previous club, he’ll always give you endeavour and dig in here to get the better of them.

Iliman Ndiaye 8

Emphatic finish to score Everton’s goal, he read Beto’s headed flick-on perfectly and then finished with aplomb to beat Sanchez and cap a hard-working display.

Beto 9

Two-goal hero, he was on it from the start, closing down a loose touch by Chelsea keeper Robert Sanchez, then beating him with a delicate finish to open the scoring before his second half strike proved too hot to handle for him and won the header to set up the third for Ndiaye.

Substitutes

Jarrad Branthwaite (on 77 for McNeil)

Brought on as Everton fought to keep a clean sheet.

Thierno Barry (on 81 for Beto)

Met with a few boos on his introduction.

Merlin Rohl (on 89 for Ndiaye)

Late cameo.

Tim Iroegbunam (on 89 for Dewsbury-Hall)

Ditto.
