Liam Rosenior gives his honest verdict on Enzo Fernandez's performance vs Everton

Liam Rosenior was asked about Enzo Fernandez specifically following Chelsea’s 3-0 defeat to Everton on Saturday.

It comes after Fernandez cast doubt on his future by refusing to rule out an exit in the summer.

Some Chelsea fans would not have been happy with the midfielder’s comments as well as his performance at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Liam Rosenior satisfied with Enzo Fernandez’s performance in Chelsea’s defeat to Everton

Rosenior seemed quite pleased with Fernandez’s display, even though the 25-year-old could not help prevent Chelsea from losing on Merseyside.

When a question about Fernandez was put to the Chelsea head coach, he told football.london and other outlets: “For me, I don’t think there’s a lack of effort. I don’t think there’s a lack of belief or determination in the team. In fact, I felt like Enzo kept going until the very, very last minute today.”

While Rosenior may have been satisfied with Fernandez’s performance, again, some supporters would have wanted more from him.

The same also applies to Cole Palmer, who was completely ineffective against Everton. At this stage, the club have to be worried about his form under Rosenior.

Things are only going to get more difficult for Palmer, Fernandez and the rest of Chelsea as well. Their next two Premier League games are against Manchester City and Manchester United.

Fernandez was definitely one of Chelsea’s better players against Everton. He created a few opportunities and nearly even scored.

According to Sofascore, the Argentine created one big chance and registered two key passes. In total, he also took three shots and missed two big chances.

On another day, Fernandez may have scored or provided an assist, but it was not meant to be for him against Everton.

After his comments and with the way Chelsea are playing at the moment, it would not be a surprise if he tried to leave in the summer.

It has already been claimed that Fernandez would be keen on joining Real Madrid. However, with a contract until 2032, it is going to be very difficult for him to leave in the next transfer window.
