Luka Doncic Addresses Lakers Incident Ahead of NBA Suspension

Luka Doncic did not let up on Saturday night, leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a 105-104 win over the Orlando Magic. Doncic has been on an absolute heater of late, and he kept his foot on the gas against the Magic.

The six-time All-Star went off for 33 points of 12-of-30 shooting, five rebounds, eight assists, four steals, a block and three triples in 38 minutes of action. Doncic did not have the most efficient performance on Saturday, but it was enough to lead L.A. to its ninth straight win.

The Lakers improved to 46-25 and remain third in the Western Conference.

Doncic was involved in a contentious incident against the Magic. At one point in the game, he was seen exchanging words with Orlando center Goga Bitadze. The heated exchange led to a technical foul for the Lakers star, marking his 16th tech of the season.

Per NBA rules, 16 technical fouls warrant an automatic one-game suspension. Unless the tech is rescinded, Doncic will be suspended for L.A.'s game against the Detroit Pistons on Monday.

Doncic addressed the incident after the win. The five-time All-NBA guard revealed the reason behind his outburst.

"[Bitadze] said at free throw he will [expletive] my whole family," Doncic accused. "And at some point, I just can't stand it. I got to stand up for myself."

Bitadze has also spoken out about the heated moment. The Magic big man denied Doncic's accusation, saying, "I don't think that's the truth." Bitadze also apologized if what he said "crossed the line."

According to Bitadze, Doncic said something "really inappropriate" about his mother. Bitadze claims he just "said it back" to Doncic.

Either way, the Lakers will be without their superstar for Monday's crucial matchup. They face a 51-19 Pistons side, the No. 1 team in the East. That is, unless the NBA decides to rescind Doncic's tech.
