Maxx Crosby news: The Seattle Seahawks just got an update on their hopes to trade for Maxx Crosby of the Raiders.

The Seattle Seahawks had an storybook 2025-26 season, which ended with the team bringing home a Super Bowl victory in February 2025 for the second time in franchise history. Heading into next season, if they want to repeat that success, having pass rusher in Maxx Crosby could help.

During the NFL offseason, the Seattle Seahawks were one of the teams in the running to bring the Las Vegas Raiders player to the West Coast, but instead, he was traded to the Baltimore Ravens, only to fail his physical and then come back to the Raiders. It was certainly a wild turn of events.

Now, Crosby is back with the Las Vegas Raiders, but that may not last. For now, he insists that he’s staying with the team, but things change quickly in the NFL. So, an insider in the NFL is sharing news about the Raiders’ current mindset on trading Crosby.

Las Vegas Raiders Not Active in Trading Maxx Crosby For Now

The Las Raiders were going to get two first-round picks for Crosby, but after his failed medical check, they likely won’t get that during the NFL offseason. For that reason and more, they probably won’t trade him until the new season begins.

On Friday, March 20, NFL insider Albert Breer shared an update that the Las Vegas Raiders are going to wait before they trade Crosby. “If he’s going to be traded, I think it’s going to have to come after Maxx Crosby gets back on the field and plays really well,” Breer said on The MMQB NFL Podcast, “so people will forget about everything that just happened.”

Breer also stated that Las Vegas is trying to mend their relationship with Crosby. “That way, it becomes a little easier when it comes to managing your owners and your fan base,” he said.

“It also makes it easier to go out and trade for him again. That’s not a bad place for the Raiders to be, either,” Breer added. “When you look at where they are, it’s like, ‘OK, Maxx is going to help build a culture, and they’ll move forward as if he’s part of the team.'”

If the Las Vegas Raiders are having a bad season but Crosby is playing well, that’s when they would be most interested in trading him.

“But if they’re really bad in October or early November and he’s playing great, then they can have that conversation,” Breer stated. “That’s probably the smartest way to move forward if you’re the Raiders.”

What the Maxx Crosby News Means for the Seattle Seahawks

Crosby still has solid numbers, looking at the statistics. During the 2025-26NFL regular season, according to NFL research, Crosby recorded 73 total tackles, 10 sacks, 28 tackles for loss and one interception.

Since the Seahawks had to part with some of their higher-cost players after their championship win, it’s hard to image them bringing on someone as expensive as Crosby, but he would certainly help the roster. So, would his cost be worth it to the Seahawks? That’s what the franchise will decision whenever Crosby becomes available again.
