Chappell Roan has come under scrutiny after footballer Jorginho claimed his young daughter - who is the child of his wife Catherine Harding and actor Jude Law - was left crying in a hotel.

Pop star Chappell Roan is facing criticism after allegations that a member of her security team confronted the young daughter of ex-Chelsea star Jorginho at a hotel in São Paulo.
The controversy began when the footballer shared a detailed Instagram post describing what he called a distressing incident involving his young daughter. The former Arsenal FC midfielder, now with Flamengo, is married to Catherine Harding, and is a step-dad to the young daughter she had with actor Jude Law.
The family were staying at the same hotel as Roan, who is know for the hit songs Pink Pony Club and Hot To Go, during the festival Lollapalooza in Brazil. Their daughter, Ada, was said to be thrilled at the chance of seeing the singer in person, but the situation reportedly escalated after she passed by Roan's table.
Jorginho took to social media to explain what happened, posting the Instagram Story in both English and Portuguese, giving an in detail report about the events which left his daughter 'in tears'.

He said: "I went through a very upsetting situation with my family earlier today. My wife (@catcavelli) is in São Paulo for @lollapaloozabr. This morning, my daughter woke up incredibly excited, she even made a sign because she was so happy to see an artist she really admires, or used to admire. @chappellroan."
According to him, the girl recognised Roan at the hotel and briefly walked past her table to confirm it was her.
He continued: "By coincidence, they're staying at the same hotel as this artist. During breakfast, the artist walked past their table. My daughter, like any child, recognised her, got excited, and just wanted to make sure it was really her.
"And the worst part is she didn't even approach her. She simply walked past the singer's table, looked to confirm it was her, smiled, and went back to sit with her mum. She didn't say anything, didn't ask for anything."
Jorginho claimed the situation unexpectedly intensified when a member of the singer's security team intervened. "What happened next was completely disproportionate," he said.

"A large security guard came over to their table while they were still having breakfast and began speaking in an extremely aggressive manner to both my wife and my daughter, saying that she shouldn't allow my daughter to 'disrespect' or 'harass' other people.
"Honestly, I don't know at what point simply walking past a table and looking to see if someone is there can be considered harassment.
"He even said he would file a complaint against them with the hotel, while my 11-year-old daughter was sitting there in tears. My daughter was extremely shaken and cried a lot."
Reflecting on the incident Jorginho said that despite his familiarity with public life the response felt excessive, especially considering it happened to a child.

The footballer continued: "I've lived with football, public exposure, and well-known people for many years, and I understand very well what respect and boundaries are. What happened there was not that. It was just a child admiring someone.
"It's sad to see this kind of treatment coming from those who should understand the importance of fans. At the end of the day, they are the ones who build all of this.
"I sincerely hope this serves as a moment of reflection. No one should have to go through this, especially not a child. @chappellroan WITHOUT YOUR FANS, YOU WOULD BE NOTHING. AND TO THE FANS, SHE DOES NOT DESERVE YOUR AFFECTION."
The post went viral gaining rapid attention online, with social media users shocked by Jorginho's post and many of them slamming the artist for the treatment of the child.
Additionally the post gained the attention of the mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Cavaliere, who publicly criticised the situation and stated the singer would not be welcome at an upcoming music event in the city. He further extended an invitation to Jorginho's daughter, stating she would be to the guest of honour at the upcoming performance in May.

In a translated post on X, he wrote: "I mean that as long as I'm in charge of our city - this young lady @ChappelRoan will never perform at Todo Mundo no Rio! I doubt that Shakira would do that! By the way, @FrelloJorginho your little one is already the guest of honour from the organisation in May!”
