Liam Rosenior is coming under intense pressure as Chelsea manager, and now, Fabrizio Romano has explained the situation and whether the Blues board could axe the Englishman.
Rosenior suffered a seventh defeat in his 19th game as Chelsea manager on Saturday night as the Blues were hapless against David Moyes’ Everton, who have climbed to just two points behind Chelsea.
A dismal defeat, riddled with mistakes and symptomatic of the problems currently at Chelsea. Issues that far exceed Rosenior, which Wayne Rooney alluded to in his post-match analysis on Match of the Day.
Should Chelsea sack Liam Rosenior? Or are the players to blame?🤔

Reports after the game stated that Chelsea’s board had not planned anything imminent with Rosenior, and that Champions League qualification remains the aim. Now, Fabrizio Romano has an update.
What Fabrizio Romano has said about Liam Rosenior’s future
Of course, it must be remembered that during Todd Boehly’s four-year stint as a minority stakeholder in Chelsea, eight managers have been in the Blues dugout including interim spells; a clear sign of instability.
It suggests Rosenior will never be far away from the trigger, even if his stock is high and pundits like Joe Cole and Owen Hargreaves defend him. On YouTube, Romano said Chelsea appreciates Rosenior’s issues.
They are taking into account it is mid-season, and it isn’t a squad built for Rosenior. However, the aim is clear, to qualify for next season’s Champions League with the Blues remaining a point off fifth place.

“Not the best moment. It feels like a complicated situation. But all of the questions I am getting on Liam Rosenior, at the moment, I don’t have anything coming from Chelsea’s side about any immediate change.
“Chelsea can’t be happy with the current situation, but they don’t forget Rosenior arrived in the middle of the season, no pre-season, and it’s not a squad built for him. Obviously, there are points to be considered.
“At the same time, Chelsea want to be in the Champions League. There’s still a long run, let’s see how the final two months of the season go. Rosenior retains full confidence; that’s the situation at the moment.”
It is clear as day, Champions League or Rosenior gets sacked
He might have sympathy among Chelsea-supporting pundits; he might even have sympathy from fans who understand the long-standing issues that predate the incumbent. Just ask Enzo Maresca.

But like Maresca, Rosenior will be sacked even if the problems are not his own doing. He’s simply putting out fires, and at the moment, those fires are overwhelming. Rosenior’s bucket of water is not indefinite.
Ultimately, Rosenior has to either complain about the issues he faces or suck it up, somehow get Chelsea into the Champions League, and then the former Strasbourg man can finally start to shape things his way.
