Kyler Murray and the Minnesota Vikings could be getting a massive boost if one legendary wide receiver has anything to say about it.
A five-time Pro Bowler and future Hall of Fame wide receiver told TMZ Sports this week that he’d jump at the chance to reunite with his former Arizona Cardinals quarterback in Minnesota.

Kyler Murray Vikings Reunion? DeAndre Hopkins Says He’d Be Down For That!!!
When asked about potentially linking up with Murray again (the two played together from 2020 to 2022 in Arizona) DeAndre Hopkins didn’t hesitate:
“Kyler … that’s my bro, man. Kyler is like family. Whatever I can do for someone like that — if Kyler needed me, if the Vikings need me, they know I’ll be there.”
Hopkins, now 33 and coming off a one-year stint with the Baltimore Ravens in 2025, emphasized how well he believes Murray would fit in Minnesota’s offense. He pointed to the presence of superstar Justin Jefferson, saying the addition of another proven veteran like himself would give the Vikings one of the most dangerous receiving duos in football.
“They already have one of the best in the league in Justin Jefferson,” Hopkins said. “Kyler would fit perfectly with them.”
The comments come as Hopkins remains one of the top free agents still available in the 2026 offseason. He has made it clear he’s still playing at an elite level both physically and mentally, and he’s eager to prove it wherever he lands next.
Kyler Murray’s Fit in Minnesota and Vikings’ WR Needs

Murray signed a one-year, $1.3 million deal with the Vikings last week, bringing a high-upside veteran presence to compete for the starting job. The Vikings finished 2025 at 9-8 and missed the playoffs. Adding a reliable veteran wideout like Hopkins would give Murray (or McCarthy) a trusted target who can win in the red zone and stretch defenses.
Hopkins has over 13,000 (13,295) career receiving yards and remains one of the league’s best route-runners and contested-catch specialists. His experience playing with Murray in Arizona — where the two developed strong chemistry — makes the reunion a natural fit if the Vikings decide to pursue him.
For now, Hopkins is keeping his options open, but his public enthusiasm for rejoining Murray has Vikings fans buzzing about the possibility of adding a future Hall of Famer to the receiving room.
Vikings Offseason Outlook with Kyler Murray
The Vikings have already made waves by signing Murray and re-signing Carson Wentz, signaling a clear upgrade at the quarterback position. If they can pair that veteran experience with a proven weapon like Hopkins, the offense could take a major leap in 2026.
Hopkins has also shared stories from a recent trip to Africa, calling it an unforgettable experience, but his focus remains on football and proving he can still play at an elite level.
