“He’s swallowed a psychologist’s manual” - Liam Rosenior’s ‘unrecognisable’ change after joining Chelsea explained by ex-Hull City teammate

Liam Rosenior's former teammate, Kevin Kilbane, has revealed that the Chelsea manager has changed. He claimed that the Englishman has turned into someone who seems to have 'psychologist’s manual or a sporting mentor’s memoir'.

Speaking on Off The Ball, Kilbane recalled how Rosenior was a player who used to share stories of Roy Keane and others during his career. However, he claimed that the Chelsea manager has now changed and 'waffles' about things that do not make sense. He said:

“I played with Liam at Hull, and I got on well with Liam. He used to tell some great stories of Roy Keane when he was his manager at Ipswich. And you see the way he is now, to me, he’s unrecognisable to the player and the person I knew. It’s like he’s swallowed a psychologist’s manual or a sporting mentor’s memoir. To me, everything he says is waffle, drivel, nothing."

“It’s like he tries to write as many quotes down as possible and tries to get them into a pre-match talk or post-match whenever addressing the media. If I’m a player being asked to do that huddle, I wouldn’t feel comfortable if I was a Chelsea player.”

Kevin Kilbane and Liam Rosenior played seven matches together at Hull City in the 2010/11 season.

Liam Rosenior remains commited to Chelsea despite slump

Liam Rosenior hopes the international break gives the players the change of environment they need. He believes that the break has come at the right time as they have lost their last four matches in all competitions and said:

"I think the international break has come at a good time for us. Hopefully, the players get a change. Most of them have to fly across the world and represent their countries, but maybe a reset, maybe some time away to regather their thoughts and have a different lineament and come back, may refresh the group."

However, Rosenior remains committed to the club and is hopeful of finishing the season well and said:

"We’re one point away from the Champions League positions, so we need to keep working in this way, keep giving the players as much confidence as possible, and hopefully this break has come at a really good moment."

Chelsea lost twice to PSG in the UEFA Champions League before losing to Everton on Saturday, March 21. They also lost 1-0 at home to Newcastle United last weekend.
