Wembley awaits: Arsenal and Manchester City clash in the Carabao Cup final today
The first trophy of the English football season is on line at Wembley today as Arsenal face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final. The Gunners are targeting victory to take what they hope will be the first step towards a potential unprecedented quadruple this season, as Mikel Arteta aims to secure a first piece of major silverware since lifting the FA Cup in 2020.
City have just been dumped out of the Champions League by Real Madrid in the last 16 but have a good opportunity to bounce back this afternoon and land a psychological blow on their rivals ahead of the Premier League title race run-in. Arsenal hope that Jurrien Timber and Martin Odegaard will be ready with Kepa Arrizabalaga set to start, while City are without Marc Guehi as Pep Guardiola keeps faith with James Trafford in his own huge goalkeeping decision.
The two best teams in the country lock horns for the latest instalment of their rivalry. Arteta is desperate for Arsenal to shed their ‘nearly’ tag, while Guardiola is seeking more trophies amid uncertainty over his future. Follow Arsenal vs Man City in the Carabao Cup final live below!
