Khloé Kardashian is revealing how her 2016 divorce from Lamar Odom transformed her outlook on diet and exercise.
During the March 18 episode of her podcast, Khloé in Wonder Land, the Good American founder, 41, opened up about overhauling her lifestyle in response to a listener’s question about binge eating.
The listener said they were feeling “rejected” after a series of bad dates and had anxiety about their appearance.
Confessing that she could relate, Khloé said, “When I was younger, I used to binge eat. I went to therapy about it. For any emotional thing, I turned to food and there was just no stopping me. I would eat, eat, eat, literally get sick and then feel disgusted with myself for how much I ate.”

Khloé recalled being in a “vicious cycle” of eating “horrible foods” to bury her feelings before she divorced Odom, 46.
She initially filed to dissolve their marriage in December 2013, but the divorce stalled as they tried to work on their relationship and Odom was hospitalized following an overdose. They finalized their divorce in December 2016.
“My divorce was really the catalyst for why I became obsessed in a healthy way with working out,” Khloé said. “I realized during my marriage that I ate so much and I would eat my feelings and I didn't like how that made me feel.”
She recalled becoming tired with the impact her poor diet was having on her overall quality of life, including having “bad skin” and feeling that she could “never be in a bathing suit.”

Having also experienced comparison to her sisters — Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner — Kardashian said she desired to have a “toned” physique and to feel comfortable in her clothing.
“I would say, like the first six months to a year, it's just uncomfortable, because you feel you're still insecure,” Khloé said of getting active. “You're busting your ass in the gym. You're not really seeing a big shift on the scale, but you’ve got to keep going.”

“For me, it was mental that kept me going. I loved how I felt,” Khloé continued. “I felt so accomplished that I did something I set out to do, but for me, it was baby steps.”
She recalled getting into the “rhythm of working out” before focusing on her diet. The reality TV star then offered the listener practical advice for overcoming insecurities.
“You’re eating healthy, you’re exercising, I honestly feel the more you exercise, the clearer your mind will feel and the stronger you will feel mentally. If you can, I think going to therapy is so helpful. I know it did wonders for me,” she said.
Following her divorce from Odom, Khloé was in an on and off relationship with Tristan Thompson until 2021. The Good American founder has not been publicly linked to anyone romantically since their split.
