Celtics Legend Paul Pierce Discusses Jaylen Brown's MVP-Type Season

Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce isn't afraid to throw his support behind Jaylen Brown.

On Sunday, Pierce discussed Brown's MVP-type season this year and suggested that JB deserves more credit for what he's accomplished, per CLNS Media's Noa Dalzell.

Paul Pierce on Jaylen Brown:

“Brown is having an MVP season. Not enough is being said on how he's held down the fort pretty much all year.”

“To still elevate your game in your 10th year is pretty amazing, because most of the time guys are who they are about time in their 4th or… pic.twitter.com/yPiTPuIQjm

Across 63 games this season, Brown is averaging 28.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game while connecting on 47.9 percent of his field goal attempts. His production has helped steer Boston to a 47-23 record and second place in the Eastern Conference.

Selected as an All-Star starter for the first time in his career, Brown continues to deliver as a top wing option. He has caught fire in March, tallying 41 points against Phoenix on March 16, 32 versus Golden State on March 18, and 30 at Memphis on March 20. That recent run also lifted him to 10th on the Celtics’ all-time scoring list, moving past several franchise greats in the process.

With the playoffs drawing closer, Brown’s scoring consistency and all-around impact position him as a central piece in the team’s push for another deep run.
