The Los Angeles Rams need a reliable third option at wide receiver, and there is someone with plenty to prove still available in free agency who could fit the bill: three-time Pro Bowler Odell Beckham Jr.

Beckham has been out of the league since 2024, but he fully intends to play in 2026.

Whether or not that could be with the Rams is another story, even as Beckham flashed his current abilities during an exhibition.

Beckham spent part of the 2021 season with the Rams, suffering a torn ACL in the Super Bowl win over the Cincinnati Bengals. He has had stints with the Baltimore Ravens (six starts in 14 games) and Miami Dolphins (nine games) since then.

He participated in the Fanatics Flag Football Classic on Saturday and spoke candidly about hoping that it is part of his track back into the league.

Beckham even offered an update on his health.

“Looking forward to hopefully getting the opportunity to play this year, and this is kind of just the starting point,” Beckham told “Up & Adams” host Kay Adams on March 21 after participating in the event, adding that his “body feels good.”

Beckham has missed time in all but two seasons since he entered the league as the 12th overall pick of the 2014 draft with the New York Giants.

He has also played for the Cleveland Browns.

Beckham has earned $108.2 million in his career. But he is coming off a one-year, $3 million contract with the Dolphins and figures to be available for a bargain at this stage of his career with his injury history.

2025 marked the second season Beckham has missed entirely since leaving the Rams. He drew plenty of attention this weekend, particularly after elevating for a touchdown grab on a pass from Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels in the back of the end zone.

“Vintage OBJ [fire emoji],” Fox Sports posted on X on March 21.

“SOMEONE GET ODELL BECKHAM JR. A CONTRACT,” Fanatics Sportsbook posted in reaction to the clip.

The sentiment was prevalent, with former NFL QB Robert Griffin III saying in his post that the mercurial wideout “should still be on an NFL Roster,” while also sharing the now-viral highlight of his touchdown reception.

Odell Beckham Jr. Still Has Major Hurdle to Clear

A return to the Rams is unlikely, given head coach Sean McVay has openly downplayed it in the past, but not impossible to envision.

Beckham can occupy one of the outside spots when the Rams go with three-receiver looks. He has spoken about being open to any role before, and would make a fine supporting player for top options Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, both of whom missed time in 2025.

However, Beckham also accepted a six-game suspension for performance-enhancing drugs.

He is presumably past that, which was the result of a failed test he disputed, but he will carry that stigma right along with questions about his durability.

Still, the Rams have a clear need for a third wideout, with seldom-used Tutu Atwell joining the Dolphins in free agency this offseason. There are few options with 575 receptions, 7,987 yards, and 59 touchdowns like Beckham has in his career available for the Rams at this point.
