Chelsea have a big decision to make regarding the future of the player this summer

Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos is facing an ‘uncertain future’ at Stamford Bridge ahead of the summer, according to a report by CaughtOffside. He is said to be attracting ‘growing interest’ from Europe. His contract in England expires in June 2030.

The Blues lost 3-0 away at Everton on Saturday night. Liam Rosenior’s side put in a poor performance against the Toffees and slumped to a disappointing defeat. They are back in action next weekend in the FA Cup against Port Vale.

Chelsea have Andrey Santos decision to make

Santos provides competition and depth for Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo in the middle of the park for Chelsea. If he left in the next transfer window, they would need to bring in someone else in his position. At the age of 21, he still has potential to get better and develop in the future.

The Brazil international, who has four caps to his name, joined the Blues back in 2023 after catching the eye in his native country at Vasco da Gama. He was immediately loaned back out to South America to get some more experience under his belt. The Rio de Janeiro-born man was also shipped out to Nottingham Forest and Strasbourg.

After his return to Chelsea last year, he has since made 41 appearances in all competitions in this campaign, 23 of which have come in the league, and he has chipped in with one goal. However, it remains to be seen whether he will still be with them next term. His current club have a big decision to make regarding his situation.

Speaking after their loss to Everton, Rosenior said: "My job, it hurts. Regardless of your position, it hurts to lose games of football. Yeah, the most disappointing evening so far in terms of the things we've spoken about, not gifting goals away and making sure we're in the game, getting control of the game.

"It wasn't there and it turned into a really difficult evening where the result and performance was nowhere near what we expected or wanted. In terms of moving forward we're one point away from the Champions League position. We need to keep working in this way."
