Celtics legend disappointed by lack of Jaylen Brown MVP talks

Paul Pierce praised Brown's stellar individual season and leadership for Boston this season.

Jaylen Brown continues to savor a compelling individual campaign this 2025-26 season in leading the Boston Celtics, but Paul Pierce thinks the star forward isn't getting the love that he deserves.

As he spoke in front of the media on Sunday ahead of the Celtics' major home clash against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Boston legend offered praise about how Brown managed to excel this year.

“Brown is having an MVP season. Not enough is being said about how he's held down the fort pretty much all year," Pierce said. "To still elevate your game in your 10th year is pretty amazing, because most of the time, guys are who they are about time in their fourth or fifth year.

"To see his maturation process at this stage, it's just unfortunate that he's not in MVP talks like he should be.”

But in the end, it was Brown who fully charged the Celtics toward an unforeseen successful season. The All-NBA forward delivered a sensational year as Boston's lead man, averaging a career-high 28.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.2 assists.

Thanks to Brown, the Celtics find themselves atop the league standings. They are currently second in the Eastern Conference with a 47-23 record.

With less than a month left before the regular season ends, Boston fans can only hope that Brown will get the attention and honors he deserves out of this superb season.
