Brooks (hand) is now "very close" to rejoining the Suns.
Dillon Brooks is finally approaching his much-awaited return for the Phoenix Suns.
Phoenix Suns / Schedule
According to PHNX Suns’ insider Felix Cruz, Brooks is now "very close" to rejoining the Suns lineup, in which he might land an on-court comeback this upcoming week.
Brooks notably suffered from a fractured left hand on Feb. 21 for Phoenix. He has shed his surgical cast and has been seen at shootarounds getting up shots, but his status remains day-to-day and he hasn't participated yet for full-contact work.
Acquired by the Suns from the Houston Rockets as part of the blockbuster Kevin Durant trade, Brooks embraced being the heart and soul of the Phoenix franchise.
He is averaging a career-high 20.9 points with 3.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.0 steals in 50 games before going down with the injury.
Brooks' looming return is simply a huge one for the Suns. Sliding with a five-game losing skid entering Sunday's clash against the Toronto Raptors, they are currently seventh in the West with a 39-32 record.
