The New York Knicks are on a roll.
As of Sunday night, the top four teams in the Eastern Conference each have a winning streak of at least three games.
The Knicks are leading the way with six wins in a row after their blowout win over the Washington Wizards on Sunday, March 22.
Karl-Anthony Towns avoided the injury report and knew he would play on Sunday night. He ended up with 26 points and 16 rebounds to lead the way for New York.
Beyond Towns, the Knicks saw a strong performance from Jalen Brunson, who shot 9-19 from the field and 3-3 from the charity stripe. He scored 23 points while passing out four assists. Brunson was a plus-24 on the night.
The Knicks beat the Wizards 145-113.
“It was crazy, I didn’t even know it was six wins in a row,” Knicks coach Mike Brown admitted to reporters after the game. “You always try to think about where and how we can get better on both ends of the floor. I think we’re still improving, but I got to give our guys credit.”
Are The Knicks Gunning For The Top Seed?

The Knicks left Sunday’s game still in the Eastern Conference’s third seed.
With a 47-25 record, winning seven of their last 10 games, the Knicks are 2.5 games ahead of the Cleveland Cavaliers, who have a comfortable lead for the fourth seed.
When it comes to the second seed, which is currently occupied by the Boston Celtics, the Knicks are just 0.5 games behind them.
With seeding being a major focal point down the stretch, what is Brown’s thought process heading into the final few weeks of the 2025-2026 run?
via Kristian Winfield, NY Daily News: Mike Browns says the Knicks “are in a decent spot” as the season ends heading into the playoffs.
Mike Brown on potentially catching Boston for #2: “It’s important to try to get the #1 seed if you can get it—but I’m a firm believer in your seeding doesn’t dictate who’s going to win at the end.” Brown says if the Knicks are the team they believe they are, seeding won’t matter.
Is The First Seed Possible For The Knicks?

The first seed might be far-fetched, but it’s not totally out of the Knicks’ reach.
The Detroit Pistons are 51-19 on the year. They have a 4.5-game lead over the Celtics with 12 games left to go. The Knicks have 10 left.
Currently, the Pistons are dealing with some notable injury concerns. Their All-Star, Cade Cunningham, could miss the remainder of the regular season, which places them in a difficult spot.
The Celtics are on the opposite end of that spectrum. Instead of losing key players, the Celtics got one back in Jayson Tatum. They are just as big a threat to the top seed as the Pistons right now.
If the season ended on March 22, the Knicks would get a first-round series against the Atlanta Hawks. This season, the Hawks are 39-32. In two games, the Knicks and the Hawks split matchups. They will face off again on April 6.
The Knicks will be back on the court on Tuesday, March 24, for a home game against the New Orleans Pelicans.
