In just his first game since making a full recovery from his troubling hamstring issues, Peyton Watson already has full confidence about how he, Nikola Jokic and the rest of the Denver Nuggets will fare for the entire NBA when healthy.
In his post-game walkoff interview after the Nuggets' 128-112 dominant home win over the Portland Trail Blazers, Watson dropped a bold declaration for the Nuggets heading to the final stretch of the season.
“We know we have a great team. It's been a while since we had a full team. I think when we're healthy, nobody in the league can beat us,” Watson said.
Sunday night against the Blazers marked the first time that the entire Nuggets roster is healthy since Nov. 12.
Denver endured injury issues all season long. Aaron Gordon fought hamstring issues, Nikola Jokic and Cam Johnson went down significantly with knee injuries and Jonas Valanciunas also missed time due to calf complications.
Watson himself missed seven weeks after taking time due to a hamstring strain.
Right now, with 10 games left in their regular season, the Nuggets are hoping to maintain their group in preparation for a potential championship run starting next month. They are currently fifth in the West with a 44-28 record.
