Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox argued the Detroit Lions should sign edge rusher Joey Bosa in NFL free agency.

A lot of pundits see the Detroit Lions addressing their pass rush early in the 2026 NFL Draft. That could very well happen. But that doesn’t mean the Lions couldn’t also still make a big splash in NFL free agency. Targeting one free agency, in particular, would quality as a splash in Detroit — Joey Bosa.

Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox called the Lions one of the best fits for Bosa in 2026.

“Pass-rusher Joey Bosa may turn 31 in July, but he remains an effective and disruptive rotational defender. This past season, he recorded five sacks, 24 quarterback pressures, and nine tackles for loss for the Buffalo Bills,” wrote Knox.

“While Bosa’s level of play would still justify a multi-year deal, he’s best suited for a legitimate contender at this stage of his career. He may still be impactful in 2027 and beyond, but that doesn’t mean he’s the right fit for a rebuilding team.

“Bosa would be a great fit for the Detroit Lions, who still don’t have a high-end complement to Aidan Hutchinson. Detroit added D.J. Wonnum in free agency, but it has room for Bosa in the pass-rushing rotation.”

Bosa has registered 77 sacks in 122 NFL games over his career. He also has 96 tackles for loss, 172 quarterback hits and 22 forced fumbles.

Last season with the Buffalo Bills, Bosa led the league with five forced fumbles. He also had five sacks, nine tackles for loss and 16 quarterback hits.
