Liverpool have suffered their latest injury concern with a forward pulling out of international duty.
Italy have confirmed that Federico Chiesa has departed their squad. The forward came off the bench in the Reds’ 2-1 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend and was called into the Azzuri’s set-up for the first time in two years.
But after being assessed by Italy’s medical staff, Chiesa has been released from duty. A statement said: “The training camp at Coverciano begins: “Federico Chiesa, whose condition was assessed upon arrival at the Federal Technical Center, was deemed unavailable for the next two matches and, in agreement with the club, left the national team's training camp. Bologna player Nicolò Cambiaghi was called up in his place.”
