Arsenal underwhelmed in the League Cup final on Sunday afternoon, and it wasn’t a pretty performance for many of the Arsenal eleven.
It was a pretty even first half, with Arsenal having the better chance, Kai Havertz hitting it at the keeper, but James Trafford went on to make it a triple save from two Bukayo Saka attempts.
The second half was a different game. Manchester City took control of the game early in the half and the goal eventually came when Kepa made an error, allowing Nico O’Reilly to score, the Manchester City left-back made it a brace just moments later and it took the game away from Arsenal.
In the absence of Martin Odegaard, Ebere Eze (lost late to injury) and Mikel Merino – Mikel Arteta didn’t have many mnidfield options to change things up and Arsenal had no answers.

Man of the match: William Saliba. Terrific and silenced Erling Haaland – he must be very frustrated that most of his teammates did next to nothing – deserved to be on the winning side.
