The Seattle Seahawks are making star wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba the highest-paid wide receiver in league history.
JSN, who starred collegiately at Ohio State, had quite a year for the Seahawks. Smith-Njigba was named the NFL's Offensive Player of the Year. He caught 119 passes for 1,793 yards and 10 touchdowns. He helped lead the Seahawks to a Super Bowl win over the Patriots.
Now, fresh off his huge season, JSN is signing a new contract. The Seahawks have worked out a new deal with their standout wide receiver.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter broke the big news on Monday morning, March 23.
"ESPN Sources: Offensive Player of the Year and Super-Bowl champion Jaxon Smith-Njigba reached agreement with the Seattle Seahawks on a four-year, $168.6 million contract extension that now makes him the highest-paid WR in NFL history. The deal averages $42.15 million per year, and includes over $120 million guaranteed, both setting records for any wide receiver," he reported.
NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport confirmed the news.
"The #Seahawks and Jaxon Smith-Njigba have a deal, as he is now the highest paid WR in the NFL, getting a 4-year, $168.6M contract extension with $120M guaranteed, per his agent," he reported.
"The #Seahawks gave JSN the fifth-year option this week, but the goal has always been to extend him. Now, he's the NFL's new highest paid WR."
It's a blockbuster payday for the former Ohio State Buckeyes star wide receiver.
