This season, Andrey Santos has become quite a popular figure among the Chelsea fanbase.
The same thing cannot be said about Chelsea’s owners, though, who have left supporters far from happy with their transfer strategy and the direction in which the club are heading in under them.
Simply put, the relationship between the Chelsea board and fans is not great right now, and it could get much worse, depending on what they do with Santos.

Chelsea selling Andrey Santos would infuriate supporters
A report from CaughtOffside has suggested that Santos is one player Chelsea could sell in the near future to help them balance the sheets.
The same outlet claims that the midfielder could cost up to €70m (£60m), which would see the Blues make a very hefty bit of profit on him.
How much would you accept for Andrey Santos? 💵
Chelsea have already rejected a £40m+ offer!
They paid just £18m to sign Santos from Vasco da Gama back in 2023, so a £60m offer could be tempting.
But again, Santos has become a player Chelsea fans have really come to appreciate. There will be a backlash if the club decide to sell him.
Liam Rosenior is also unlikely to be happy if the 21-year-old is sold in the summer. Santos is a favourite of his, working with him at both Chelsea and Strasbourg.
Rosenior has already described Santos as “crucial”, so his view of the player is very clear.
Chelsea shouldn’t sell Andrey Santos
Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital should keep hold of Santos, and not just because it will appease angry supporters.
The Brazil international is a very tidy midfielder. Since being introduced into the team by Rosenior, he has helped keep things ticking in the middle of the park with his short and crisp passing.
Still being just 21 years of age, Santos is also going to get much better. Romeo Lavia’s injury record is another reason to retain his services as well.
Chelsea will need to sell some players in the summer, especially if they want to make signings. But Santos should not be a name they offload.
