Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles have set a steep asking price for their QB2, Tanner McKee—and it’s a bold one.

Reports indicate the Eagles want a second-round pick in exchange for McKee, who backs up Jalen Hurts.

Last offseason, the Eagles chose McKee over Kenny Pickett and traded Pickett to the Cleveland Browns. Now, they’re holding firm on McKee’s price.
McKee isn’t the only highly valued backup in the NFC. The San Francisco 49ers have reportedly turned down offers as high as a third-round pick for Mac Jones.

The difference is experience. Jones entered the league as a first-round pick and has logged significant starting time. McKee has appeared in six games and made two starts.

McKee has performed well when given meaningful snaps, but he hasn’t shown enough to justify a second-round valuation. The Eagles selected him in the sixth round of the 2023 draft, though quarterback-needy teams continue to monitor his development.
