Barcelona supporters got a nice little reminder this week that some faces never really feel far from the club. It is always enjoyable to see a club legend return to visit the current players.
Jordi Alba, one of the most familiar figures from a hugely successful era, made an appearance at the Ciutat Esportiva and immediately brought a wave of nostalgia with him. Alba spent more than a decade with Barca’s first team and became one of the club’s most productive full-backs ever.
As seen in [SPORT](https://www.sport.es/es/videos/barca/20260323/jordi-alba-ciutat-esportiva/128306628.shtml)’s video report, Alba was seen at Barcelona’s training base, the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. The complex in Sant Joan Despi has served as the club’s main training ground for the first team since 2009 and remains one of the central places in daily Barca life.
Alba met players who had not gone on international duty and were present at training. It was an opportunity for some of the youngsters to spend time with a player who defined an era at the club.
Not every former player leaves behind that kind of connection. Alba did, and that is why even a brief appearance at the Ciutat Esportiva is enough to catch attention.
After leaving Barcelona, Alba spent a couple of seasons playing alongside Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Sergio Busquets at Inter Miami before hanging up his boots ahead of the current season. It remains to be seen what awaits the Spaniard in the next stage of his career.
