Pelicans' Karlo Matković laughs at NBA’s drug test; suggests it’s because of insane alley-oop

New Orleans Pelicans forward Karlo Matković could do nothing but laugh when the NBA drug tested him on Sunday. Matković announced the league’s decision on social media with a re-post of his 360 alley-oop dunk in Saturday night’s 111-106 loss against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

“Of course, I’m drug tested today,” Matković posted on his Instagram story on Sunday, followed by three laughing emojis.

Matković caught the dunk in the fourth quarter on a lob from rookie guard Jeremiah Fears. Fears’ pass appeared to look short, so Matković caught the pass with his back facing the rim before turning his body mid-air with enough time to face the basket to dunk and landing on the court with his back, once again, to the basket to run back on defense.

The play was posted by the league’s social media team as one of the best of the night. Matković’s Instagram joke suggests he didn’t believe the timing of the drug test was coincidental.

Matković finished Saturday’s game with 6 points, 2 steals and a block in 12 minutes. The Pelicans hit the road to face former teammate Jose Alvarado and the New York Knicks on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
