Los Angeles Rams named best landing spot for 10x Pro Bowl free agent

The Los Angeles Rams came up a game short of their 2025 goal of making it to the Super Bowl. They fell to the eventual champion Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship Game, forced to look in the mirror to find ways they can get over the hump in 2026.

While the year did not end the way they wanted it to, there is no question that the Rams are among one of the NFL teams best situated to make a run at the Super Bowl next season. With Matthew Stafford, the reigning league MVP, under center, and with their stellar offense as a whole, they certainly have a leg up on many other teams.

But what they may be missing are some key pieces and voices on defense. In order to find that, they may be wise to look into a reunion with one of their former players.

The Los Angeles Rams named a best-fit for free agent Bobby Wagner

Adding Trent McDuffie via trade with the Kansas City Chiefs gives Los Angeles one of the best weapons in the defensive passing game. However, they can still make more moves to improve their defense, and Bleacher Reportbelieves a reunion with linebacker Bobby Wagner could be in order:

“Given his age, Wagner would make the most sense for a team with serious Super Bowl aspirations. He’d be a great addition for the Los Angeles Rams, who employed Wagner in 2022.

“L.A. is eager to maximize its remaining time with Matthew Stafford, as evidenced by their trade for cornerback Trent McDuffie. Signing Wagner would add another leader and difference-maker to the Rams’ defense.”

Last year, Wagner played in all 17 games for the Washington Commanders, had 162 total tackles, 4.5 sacks, four passes defended, and two interceptions.

In 2022, Wagner played for Los Angeles and was named a Second Team All-Pro while recording 140 tackles.

A future Pro Football Hall of Famer, Wagner has nothing left to prove in his storied NFL career. But adding another Super Bowl sure would be nice.
