It’s McCarthy’s second known Pro Day stop after attending Georgia last week. It’s not clear if GM Omar Khan joined him.

As the school often does, LSU boasts several notable prospects. Cornerback Mansoor Delane is the first name expected to be drafted and could be a Top 10 selection. He reportedly has enjoyed a strong Pro Day working out, running in the mid-high 4.3’s during his 40 yard dash.

He’s unlikely to be on the bord when Pittsburgh is on the clock at No. 21.

Safety A.J. Haulcy is well-built and could be in play for Pittsburgh if the team considers a safety in the second round. A ballhawk at Houston and LSU, he recorded 10 career interceptions, including three for the Tigers in 2025.

Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier might be on Pittsburgh’s radar in the third round. Son of former NFL quarterback and coach Doug Nussmeier, Garrett was once thought to be a potential first round pick. But a down 2025 season that ended with him being benched dashed those hopes. He cited a core muscle injury that severely hampered his play and healthy at the Senior Bowl, shined to become the game’s MVP.

Doug Nussmeier and McCarthy coached together in Dallas, making for an easy connection point to Garrett.

Linebacker Harold Perkins Jr. is an athletic and versatile off-ball and EDGE player. Pittsburgh is reportedly bringing him in for a pre-visit, though a date isn’t known. In the Steelers’ system, he’d likely play inside linebacker. Last season, he notched 8 tackles for loss and three interceptions, showing his playmaking ability in any phase of the game.

Other notable names include a trio of receivers in Aaron Anderson, Zavion Thomas, and Barion Brown along with linebacker Jack Pyburn.

This week of Pro Day’s are full of notable schools. Wednesday features Alabama and Ohio State while the Pitt Pro Day also takes place this week on Thursday. Florida State’s workout is Friday. Meaning, LSU might not be McCarthy’s only stop of the week.
