Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez breaks silence on rumors linking him with Real Madrid transfer

Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez has distanced himself from Real Madrid rumors. The Argentine midfielder has said that there have been no talks with the Spanish side and he remains focused on the Premier League side.

Speaking to the media, Fernandez said that he will think about his Chelsea future after the FIFA World Cup in the summer. He added that the rumors linking him with Real Madrid do not hold weight and said:

"No, honestly, nothing. Zero talks. Now we're focused on Chelsea and what's left of the last few games this season and then we'll see after the World Cup." (via All About Argentina)

Liam Rosenior was quizzed about the vice-captain's future at the club, and he was sure that the midfielder would be staying. He added that the Argentine is fully committed to the club and said:

"I think I had a great conversation with Enzo at length this morning [last Thursday] before training, not just about his comments, just how he was feeling, how as a team we can improve. He's one of the captains of the club. What I would say is that he made it really, really clear to me how happy he is here at this club, how much he wants to win, how passionate he is for us to be successful.

"And he also said that in translation and in emotion, things get misconstrued in what he said. So for me, he's fully committed to this group, he's fully committed to winning here at this football club."

Enzo Fernandez has been linked with Real Madrid and PSG this summer, but has six years left on his contract.

Fabrizio Romano reported on Enzo Fernandez leaving Chelsea for Real Madrid

Fabrizio Romano spoke on his YouTube channel recently, reporting that Enzo Fernandez was in talks to extend his Chelsea contract. He added that Real Madrid and PSG rumors will not go away until there is a breakthrough in talks and said:

“The message I’m receiving on this Enzo Fernandez story is that Enzo Fernandez and Chelsea had some conversations about the contract to discuss potential new terms for Enzo Fernandez."

“At the moment, they could not reach an agreement on a new contract. If the situation remains like this, with no agreement from now until the summer transfer window, Fernandez could eventually consider proposals in the summer.”

Real Madrid are looking to sign a midfielder in the summer, and have also been linked with Liverpool's Alexis Mac Allister.
