The Philadelphia Eagles need to address their outside linebacker/EDGE rusher depth this offseason after losing Jaelan Phillips to the Carolina Panthers, leaving them with only four players under contract. Nolan Smith Jr. has a fully guaranteed 5th-year option for the 2027 season, due in May, and it’s unclear what direction the front office will take. Lastly, the Eagles are reportedly interested in acquiring Jonathan Greenard, whom the Vikings are seeking a Day 2 pick for after failing to land Maxx Crosby.

Because of this, the Eagles could be in the market for a pass rusher in the upcoming draft.

According to Ryan Fowler, the Eagles will host Texas Tech Red Raiders EDGE rusher Romello Height for a 30-visit. He is an explosive pass rusher with an elite first step and bend, and will primarily be used on obvious passing downs as a situational pass rusher early in his NFL career. However, Height is undersized, listed at 6-foot-3 and 239 pounds, and turns 25 in April. He is projected as a late Day 2 to early Day 3 pick of the 2026 NFL Draft, with PFF ranking him as the 14th-best player at the position and the 77th-overall prospect.

Romello Height transferred to Texas Tech Red Raiders last December after spending 2020 to 2021 with the Auburn Tigers, 2022 to 2023 with the USC Trojans, and 2024 with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. He enjoyed a breakout 2025 campaign, setting career highs and earning First-Team All-Big 12 honors. Height recorded 62 pressures, 42 hurries, 11 quarterback hits, ten sacks, and two forced fumbles across 14 games, along with 38 tackles and 11.5 TFLs.
Height wrapped up his six-year college career, totaling 111 tackles, 27 TFLs, 131 pressures, 16.5 sacks, one interception, and four forced fumbles across 50 games.
“An edge defender with a lean, angular frame, Height will need a heavy dose of weight-room work to compete at the pro level. His rush is fast and relentless. He uses long strides to challenge at the top and can leap inside the protection.
“However, his lack of play strength and contact balance allow blockers to bounce him around. Height needs to improve his skill level and refine his approach if he’s going to make an impact as a designated pass rusher, but he has the talent to cause some chaos in the pocket.”
He predicts that he will become a good backup with the potential to develop into a starter.
