The inaugural Fanatics Flag Football Classic brought together current stars, legends, and high-level international competition, with Team USA dominating a group of NFL talent in a fast-paced showcase.
Former stars weren't just there for fun; they were making statements, and perhaps no one made a louder one than Odell Beckham Jr.
From the moment he stepped on the field, Beckham looked… different. Explosive cuts. Clean separation. And yes, another ridiculous one-handed grab that immediately went viral.
For a player who hasn't appeared in an NFL game since late 2024, it was a loud message to the rest of the league that he can still play at an elite level.
On Monday, Adam Schefter went on “The Pat McAfee Show” and dropped the update that shifted this from "fun comeback chatter" to something much more serious.
“I saw OBJ at the Super Bowl, and we talked, and he definitely wanted to play, and he feels healthy. He feels like he could help a team,” Schefter said. “There are certain places I think that would appeal to him. The Giants would make some sense. That would be an awesome reunion. There was some way that could happen. But he definitely would like to come back and play, and he feels like he could definitely help somebody this year.”
At his peak, Beckham was one of the league’s premier wide receivers
He won the 2014 Offensive Rookie of the Year, was a three-time Pro Bowl selection in his first three seasons, and produced five 1,000-yard campaigns.
Across 10 seasons, he totaled 7,987 career receiving yards and 59 touchdowns.
He also owns some of the fastest statistical starts in NFL history, reaching 200 receptions and 4,000 yards at a record pace.
From 2014 to 2018, Beckham was the face of the New York Giants, posting over 5,400 yards and 44 touchdowns in New York alone.
Since then, his journey has included stops with the Browns, a Super Bowl-winning run with the Rams, and shorter stints with the Ravens and Dolphins.
Injuries slowed the trajectory, but the talent never fully disappeared.
Now at 33 years old, if Beckham is serious about an NFL return, and all signs say he is, several teams could emerge as legitimate options.
Beyond the Giants reunion, contenders like the Chiefs, 49ers, and Ravens might make sense.
These teams aren’t necessarily in the market for a WR1 but could weaponize Beckham in a rotational, high-leverage role.
Either way, he instantly becomes one of the most intriguing free-agent wildcards on the market.
