Ray’s Mock Mondays: Post free agency predictions for the 2026 NFL Draft

With 2026 NFL free agency slowly dying down, let’s take a look at what teams need to address in the draft post free agency signings.

**1\. Las Vegas Raiders**

Pick: Fernando Mendoza (QB, Indiana)

As uninteresting as this pick has become it is the clear choice. With the Raiders’ major signings in free agency revolving around bolstering the defense and adding fire power to the offense, all signs point towards the team gearing up to support Mendoza as their quarterback this upcoming season.

**2\. New York Jets**

Pick: David Bailey (Edge, Texas Tech)

At No. 2 the Jets have a plethora of future star defenders at their disposal. After addressing linebacker and edge in free agency, it’s really up to which prospect they like more. Taking Bailey out of Texas Tech would add a cornerstone edge rusher that they haven’t had for a long time as a franchise, making this an A+ pick for New York.

**3\. Arizona Cardinals**

Pick: Sonny Styles (LB, Ohio State)

Similar to the Jets, Arizona needs help big time on defense and is in the perfect position to take a future superstar. After a less than impressive free agency, there is definitely a need to fill at both linebacker and edge rusher. After seeing styles have one of the best combines for a linebacker ever, grabbing your all pro linebacker at No.3 seems like the perfect situation for the Cardinals.

**4\. Tennessee Titans**

Pick: Reuben Bain Jr. (Edge, Miami)

The Titans shined throughout free agency, filling the roster with solid pieces that will greatly impact this team in 2026. At No. 4 the goal for Tennessee should be grabbing the best player available. Adding Bain out of Miami would immediately give this team an upgrade along the line of scrimmage and add another threat on this talented defense.

**5\. New York Giants**

Pick: Arvelle Reese (LB, Ohio State)

After a quiet free agency, the G-Men need to target some potential to add to their young roster. Reese out of Ohio State is the perfect versatile linebacker/edge rusher combination to add to this defense, being available wherever the Giants need him in the front seven. The Harbaugh regime would be fools to miss out on this level of talent at pick No. 5.

**6\. Cleveland Browns**

Pick: Spencer Fano (OT, Utah)

The Browns did a solid job of resetting their offensive line in free agency, especially after a rough 2025 season from the group. Adding Tytus Johnson, Tevon and Elgton Jenkins, and Zion Johnson gave the Browns some hope of rebuilding the trenches. Yet there is still a glaring hole at left tackle. Adding Fano out of Utah is a no-brainer for Cleveland, and gives them the left tackle of the future in a complete overhaul of the offensive line.

**7\. Washington Commanders**

Pick: Jeremiyah Love (RB, Notre Dame)

Although the Commanders have a plethora of holes to fill on the defensive side of the ball, Jayden Daniels and that offense could use some help as well. Pairing Love with Daniels at No. 7 would put this offense in a better position than they were in their 2024 Cinderella run, making this a home run pick for both sides.

**8\. New Orleans Saints**

Pick: Makai Lemon (WR, USC)

The Saints did lose key players on their defense to free agency, yet with a young quarterback on the rise and some big additions to the offense in these past weeks, it’s hard to avoid adding more fire power to an already strong offense. Adding Lemon as a receiver to be open at any part of the field, while Olave handles the big catches deep and outside the hashes, makes this the perfect pick for the future of Tyler Shough and this offense.

**9\. Kansas City Chiefs**

Pick: Mansoor Delane (CB, LSU)

While the Chiefs made some big moves in free agency with the signing of super bowl MVP Keneth Walker III, they also lost both of their star corners to the Rams. Adding Delane to immediately be a strong replacement for Trent Mcduffie and Jaylen Watson makes this a perfect fit for this defensive scheme, and gives Chiefs fans some hope in their secondary.

**10\. Cincinnati Bengals**

Pick: Caleb Downs (S, Ohio State)

After years of defensive struggles, the Bengals made some key moves to bolster their defense. Adding Boye Mafe on the edge and Bryan Cook to the safety room were perfect additions, yet these additions do not change the Bengals perfect fit for Caleb Downs. Downs’ talent makes him a part of this group of versatile safeties we’ve seen enter the NFL like Nick Emmanwori and Kyle Hamilton, making this a perfect fit for the Bengals organization.

**11\. Miami Dolphins**

Pick: Jordyn Tyson (WR, ASU)

After trading Waddle, the Dolphins biggest concern should be adding cornerstone talent for the future. Although Tyson has battled injuries, his tape at Arizona State highlights his pro level talent that any team would be wanting to have. With the Dolphins mid regime change, adding the duo of Malik Willis and Tyson points the Dolphins future in the right direction.

**12\. Dallas Cowboys**

Pick: C.J. Allen (LB, Georgia)

Sorry Cowboys fans, but it seems this was another disappointing year for Dem Boys in free agency. Although Jerry Jones and company failed to snag any big names this year, snagging Allen at No. 12 isn’t a bad fit in the slightest. Allen thrived at Georgia and proved himself as one of the smartest linebackers in college football. What Allen lacks in athleticism he makes up for in knowledge of the game, making this the perfect fit for improving this Dallas front seven.

**13\. Los Angeles Rams (Via. ATL)**

Pick: Monroe Freeling (OT, Georgia)

At No. 13 the Rams have few needs to fill. After upgrading their secondary with the Kansas City duo of McDuffie and Watson in free agency, their defense is set up to make a championship run. With the offensive line aging, adding Freeling out of Georgia is the best fit for the Rams in the first round. Freeling’s length and quick lateral movement makes him a perfect build for a future all-pro tackle, and handing him off to a premier offensive mind in Sean McVay makes this the best fit for both sides.

**14\. Baltimore Ravens**

Pick: Carnell Tate (WR, Ohio State)

After one wild free agency for Baltimore, they have multiple paths they could take at No. 14. However, the main goal should always be to give Lamar Jackson help. Tate out of Ohio State would give this offense a true deep threat and bigger receiver. Zay Flowers has been great in his time in Baltimore, but needs a partner in crime to take the stress off of him, adding Tate does just that.

**15\. Tampa Bay Buccaneers**

Pick: Akheem Mesidor (Edge, Miami)

Similar to the Ravens, the Buccaneers have a wide range of positions they could address in this year’s draft, but one thing is for sure, they need a stronger pass rush. Mesidor out of Miami is arguably the most pro ready pass rusher in this class. Although a 25 year old rookie isn’t the sexiest pick for the future of your franchise, Mesidor will be a day one impact for Tampa Bay.

**16\. New York Jets (Via. IND)**

Pick: Jermod McCoy (CB, Tennessee)

After the Jets address the front seven at No. 2, addressing the secondary should be their next priority. The team with zero turnovers had a rough 2025 season, and McCoy is sure to change that. Although McCoy didn’t play in the 2025 season, his 2024 tape is some of the best from a corner in years. Adding a playmaker to that level would give them their Sauce replacement and possibly then some, making this an A+ first round for the Jets.

**17\. Detroit Lions**

Pick: Francis Mauigoa (OT, Miami)

**18\. Minnesota Vikings**

Pick: Dillion Theineman (S, Oregon)

**19\. Carolina Panthers**

Pick: Kenyon Sadiq (TE, Oregon)

**20\. Dallas Cowboys (Via. GB)**

Pick: Avieon Terrell (CB, Clemson)

**21\. Pittsburgh Steelers**

Pick: Ty Simpson (QB, Alabama)

**22\. Los Angeles Chargers**

Pick: Emmanuel McNiel-Warren (S, Toledo)

**23\. Philadelphia Eagles**

Pick: Kadyn Proctor (OT, Alabama)

**24\. Cleveland Browns (Via. JAX)**

Pick: Omar Cooper Jr. (WR, Indiana)

**25\. Chicago Bears**

Pick: T.J. Parker (Edge, Clemson)

**26\. Buffalo Bills**

Pick: Olaivavega Ioane (G, Penn. State)

**27\. San Francisco 49ers**

Pick: Cashius Howell (Edge, Texas A&M)

**28\. Houston Texans**

Pick: Caleb Banks (DT, Florida)

**29\. Kansas City Chiefs (Via. LAR)**

Pick: Zion Young (Edge, Mizzou)

**30\. Miami Dolphins (Via. DEN)**

Pick: Colton Hood (CB, Tennessee)

**31\. New England Patriots**

Pick: Keldrick Faulk (Edge, Auburn)

**32\. Seattle Seahawks**

Pick: Brandon Cisse (CB, South Carolina)
