The Baltimore Ravens have lived through heartbreak before, but the way their 2025 season ended still lingers. A playoff spot slipped away in seconds. One miss, and suddenly everything unravelled in Pittsburgh.
Emotions have not cooled weeks later. DeAndre Hopkins has added fuel to a conversation fans were already having loudly online.

The Ravens’ crushing loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers became a defining moment. A missed 44-yard attempt by rookie kicker Tyler Loop sealed a 26-24 defeat and ended Baltimore’s season at 8-9.
Hopkins did not sugarcoat the aftermath. The locker room was “the hottest” he had seen. Shock, anger, and disbelief filled the air. He made one thing clear: it shouldn’t have come down to the kick.
“That was probably the hottest I have seen the locker room… It shouldn’t even have gotten down to depending on him to make a 40-yarder… we should have just kept handing off the ball.”
Heartbreaking: Former Ravens WR DeAndre Hopkins speaks on Tyler Loop's missed field goal against the Steelers.
"That was the hottest I've seen a locker room in a while. I didn't think it was real. I thought I was dreaming."

That admission cracked open the real debate. And fans didn’t hold back.
One usercommented,
“That OC was trash”.
Another fanwrote,
“Yall had a timeout and time to get one more play to get more yards for better field goal”.
A different useradded,
“missing a field goal against the Steelers and turning the locker room into a funeral is brutal work”.
The frustration wasn’t just aimed at Tyler Loop. It spread to coaching decisions and game management. Others chimed inwith,
“Harbs said Iove u guys after he blew the game”.
Some took a longer view, as another fannoted,
“After this offseason I’m no longer mad lol”.

That range of reactions tells the real story. This wasn’t just a missed kick. It was a collapse of trust in play-calling, in execution, and in late-game decision-making.
Loop has been reliable statistically. ESPN reported he hit 30 of 33 kicks before that moment, including a perfect record under 50 yards. That’s what makes the miss even harder to digest. A 79% probability kick turned into a season-ending nightmare.
Lamar Jackson had done enough to give Baltimore a shot. Two late touchdowns flipped the momentum. The offence got into range. But instead of pushing for extra yards, the team settled.
When a veteran like Hopkins says the offence should’ve taken control, it validates what fans are screaming. The Ravens didn’t lose just because of one miss. They lost because they let the game come down to it.
