Travis Kelce Finalizes New Contract With Kansas City Chiefs

Kelce officially signed the deal Monday, making his return to Kansas City official after weeks of speculation about his future.

According toNFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the contractis technically structured as a three-year deal worth roughly $54.7 million.However, the financial structure suggests Kelce couldrealistically play only one season under the agreement.

Kelceis expected to earn $12 million during the 2026 season, with additional money available through performance incentives.

The Kansas City Chiefs confirmed thatKelce signed a new contract but did not publicly release the financial details.

According toMySportsUpdate’s Ari Meirov, the deal includes a trigger date next June, set primarily for salary-cap purposes.

“For context and clarity, TravisKelce’s contract with the #Chiefs includes a trigger date next June that exists strictly for cap purposes,”Meirov wrote. “He does not actually have another two years and $40M+ coming to him after this season.”

Kelcecelebrated the signing and his return to Kansas City shortly after the deal became official with a message for Chiefs Kingdom.

Patrick Mahomes Previously Reflected onKelce’s Future With the Chiefs

Kelce’s return follows months of speculation about whether the veteran tight end might retire after the 2025 season.

The Chiefs finished the year with a 6–11 record and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2012,leading to questions about thefuture of several veteran players.
