Bucs Sign Linebacker Christian Rozeboom
March 23rd, 2026
The pipeline from the 2021 Rams Super Bowl team to the Panthers to the Buccaneers has re-opened.
In the first wave of free agency, the Bucs signed Panthers free agent starting defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson on a one-year deal for $10 million. Robinson had played for the Rams and was a star of that Rams Super Bowl win alongside Aaron Donald.
Today, the Bucs signed an inside linebacker with a similar journey.
Christian Rozeboom, 29, started 16 games last season for Carolina and is known for stopping the run. Undrafted in 2021 out of South Dakota State, Rozeboom has a pedigree as a battler. After a brief stint with the Chiefs, he spent four seasons with the Rams, including 16 starts and more than 200 tackles through the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
Joe applauds the signing. The Bucs desperately needed depth at inside linebacker and it appears Rozeboom is a decent complement to free agent signing Alex Anzalone, who is known for his elite cover skills.
Joe’s not sure what the Rozeboom addition means when it comes to the future of Lavonte David, but Rozeboom certainly isn’t making much money.
The signing does seem to signal that the Bucs are more than ready to make SirVocea Dennis a special teams warrior.
