The Dallas Cowboys‘ cornerback room has seen some shifts this past offseason.
Trevon Diggs was cut just prior to the conclusion of the 2025 regular season after a debacle concerning him not wanting to fly back with the team after their Christmas game against the Washington Commanders. And former Buffalo Bills first round pick Kair Elam, who started seven games last season, was cut just after Thanksgiving.
As a result Dallas is primed to start last year’s third round draft pick Shavon Revel on the exterior alongside All-Pro DaRon Bland, with either Reddy Steward or free agent pickup Cobie Durant filling in the third spot.
However, in keeping some continuity the Cowboys have re-upped one of their depth options at cornerback – former 2019 sixth round pick, Corey Ballentine.

Ballentine started the season on the New England Patriots‘ practice squad, where he was elevated to the game-day roster for one game before being cut on September 23.
The 29-year old was subsequently signed to the Cowboys practice squad and played three games before finally being promoted to the full-time active roster on December 24, getting his first and only snaps on defense in weeks 17 and 18.
