Iowa State Cyclones: 325-Pound Game Wrecker Schedules Workout

Iowa State Cyclones nose tackle Domonique Orange decided to stay for his final year of college eligibility rather than earn lots of money in the transfer portal or declare for the 2025 NFL Draft, aiming to boost his draft stock. He put together a solid senior campaign, earning Third-Team All-Big 12 honors while battling an ankle injury for the latter part of the year. Orange recorded 18 tackles and 0.5 TFLs across 12 games and 547 defensive snaps, along with 13 pressures, ten hurries, a 6.9% pass-rush win rate, 15 run stops, and a 6.9% stop rate. He wrapped up his four-year college career at Iowa State, totaling 66 tackles, seven TFLs, and one sack across 50 games and 24 starts.

Orange was invited to the Senior Bowl but opted out due to an injury unrelated to his ankle. He was invited to and attended the NFL Scouting Combine but did not participate in drills. He is also not expected to participate in Iowa State’s Pro Day, which is scheduled for Tuesday.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network,Domonique Orange suffered a quad strain early in the pre-draft process, which kept him from participating in the Senior Bowl, NFL Scouting Combine, and Iowa State’s Pro Day. As a result, the 325-pound game-wrecking nose tackle will work out in front of NFL scouts on campus on April 7, with him expected to be 100% by that time. Orange will have a chance to wow scouts and boost his draft stock, as he is currently projected as a Day 2-to-early-Day 3 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

“Orange is a sturdy nose tackle capable of muddying the middle of the field with his first-step quickness and take-on power. His reaction time makes it hard to reach-block him in zone and he has the anchor to play landlord over the A-gaps against double-teams.

“He gets bounced around on contact but is excellent in recovery and winning the final phase of the rep. Orange is a non-factor as a pass rusher, but his value versus the run should attract teams.”

He projects to become an average starter.
