Before the 76ers faced the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday, head coach Nick Nurse confirmed to reporters that George will indeed make his return on Wednesday against the Chicago Bulls.
"If he's allowed to play, he's going to play," Nurse said in his pregame address. "He has worked hard, though. I will say that, like he's conditioned hard and worked hard. I don't expect any ramp-up issues at all."
George's looming return can't be any bigger for Philadelphia. With Joel Embiid (oblique) and Tyrese Maxey (finger) sidelined significantly, the 76ers expect George to help them in the wake of their continued hunt for a secured playoff spot.
Entering Monday's game, the Sixers (39-32) are in a tight battle with the Raptors, Hawks, Heat, Magic and Hornets for the No. 5 and No. 6 seed of the Eastern Conference.
George is averaging 16.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals across 27 games this season for Philly.
