Los Angeles Lakers Star Luka Doncic Made NBA History In Pistons Game

On Monday night, the Los Angeles Lakers are playing the Detroit Pistons in Michigan.

Luka Doncic had 28 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals while shooting 10/24 from the field and 3/11 from three-point range in his first 31 minutes of playing time.

During the game, Doncic also made NBA history.

Ryan Ward of Lakers OnSI wrote: “MILESTONE: Luka Dončić reached 5,000 career field goals with his fifth make tonight at Detroit. At 27 years, 23 days old, he becomes the seventh-fastest player in NBA history to reach the mark.

6. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (26 years, 333 days) 7. Luka Dončić (27 years, 23 days) 8. Michael Jordan (27 years, 41 days)”

Doncic has been on a scoring tear as of late.

He has scored 133 points over the prior three games coming into Monday.

Currently, the All-Star forward is averaging 33.4 points, 7.9 rebounds, 8.4 assists and 1.6 steals per contest while shooting 47.6% from the field and 36.7% from three-point range in 59 games.

Lakers Are Red Hot

With a win over the Pistons, the Lakers would be in the middle of a ten-game winning streak (they’ve won nine straight).

In addition, they have been excellent on the road, going 23-13 in 36 games outside of Crypto.com Arena.
